When I was growing up, our neighbors, the Smiths, invited me over for dinner and served what I thought was the best hamburger I’d ever had in my life.  I asked my mother to get the recipe, and from then on, she made what we fondly called “Smithburgers”.  This is a variation of that simple recipe, cherry-style. -Julie


1 Pound Ground Beef

1/2 C Italian Style Breadcrumbs

1 Egg

1 T Worchestershire Sauce

3 T Cherry Heat 

1/4 C Benjamin Twiggs Dried Cherries (optional)


Combine all ingredients in large bowl and mix well.  Form into burgers and cook on the grill or in a large skillet on the stove until done.

Makes 4 burgers.

Serve with Cherry Heat for a stronger kick.
